Post­par­tum depres­si­on can be very well alle­via­ted through psy­cho­the­ra­peu­tic sup­port. For this, con­ta­ct a psy­cho­lo­gi­cal or medi­cal psychotherapist.

Seve­re post­par­tum depres­si­on can be alle­via­ted with medi­ca­ti­on such as anti­de­pres­sants. The­se can be pre­scri­bed by your GP or spe­cia­list. Bre­ast­fee­ding is often pos­si­ble des­pi­te medication!

Psy­cho­the­ra­peu­tic and medi­ci­nal tre­at­ment are often used tog­e­ther for treatment.

The cos­ts of trea­ting post­par­tum depres­si­on are cove­r­ed by health insurance.
